In order to describe a product/ service, you need a wide variety of adjectives which can point out to the features of the product/ service. Check how many adjectives you know by doing the exercise below. If it turns out to be too demanding at first, open the attachment below, familiarize yourself with the list of adjectives and sentences and then do this exercise.
Read the text informing what the company has on its offer and fill in the blanks with missing words. Aften doing this exercise, write a similar paragraph about any other company and its product range, including information about the features/ benefits, availability or the target group.
You have reached the most practical part- product presentation. Listen to the recording first.
Take a look at these three simple products. Use your imagination and make a long list of potential uses of each of them (the more the better), then write as many adjectives as you can think of used to describe the FEATURES (made of…, small/ big, light/ heavy, portable, soft/ hard etc.) and finally the BENEFITS resulting from them (affordable, hard-wearing thus, economical etc). Have fun!
Next, open the attachment below and go through all the tips as well as phrases used for product presentation. Start with the useful phrases which you may use when introducing the product, explaining its benefits and comparing it with the competition. Then move on to the second part where you learn how to describe your product and analyse the 6 given tips. Pay attention to how you describe the product/ service. Remember that all those adjectives you have learnt (features) are important, but only if they bring benefits to the customer. Make sure you analyse your product according to these criteria. Use the given examples to help you. Last but not least, prepare a company/ product presentation. You can make it up or elaborate on the company you work for.
